VPRD plans special Valentine's events
Valentine’s Day will quickly be upon us and VPRD has a couple of different opportunities this coming Saturday to show those important people in your life how much you care about them!
At our Valentine’s Craft Day, kids will enjoy making some Valentine’s Day-themed craft projects followed by a delicious lunch.
Brandon Historical Society annual fundraiser
The Brandon Historical Society will be holding it's Annual Valentine Dinner at the Brandon Homestyle Cafe.
Reservations are required at 319-474-2200 by February 7th.
Meal will include a four course Prime Rib Dinner!
Cost: $30 per person, proceeds will go toward the Bank Building Preservation.
Vinton's Mini Masters fun returns
The annual Vinton Unlimited Mini-Masters golf tournament takes place Feb. 24-26, in many downtown area businesses, where unique courses await anyone who wants to try their luck and skill.

PEO Chapter MZ to meet
PEO Chapter MZ will meet at 12 noon Monday, Feb. 14, at the home of Bonnie Rohlena assisted by Kae Santman for lunch. The program will be presented by Becky Primus. Please meet to carpool at 11:30.
Rock Stars to appear
Dress as a Rock Star during the open skate at the Vinton Skate Center for Rock Star Night at the Skate Center! There will be prizes and contests! All the fun starts on Saturday, February 5th from 7-9 pm!
Relay For Life Scheduled
Join us June 3, 2011 for the American Cancer Society RELAY FOR LIFE of Benton County at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School track in Vinton beginning at 7:00 p.m. RELAY FOR LIFE is a fundraising event that reaches into each community in Benton County, bringing together neighbors, friends, co-workers, and families to CELEBRATE those who have survived cancer and REMEMBER those who have not that live on in our memories.
FANCY NANCY FEBRUARY FUN FOR CP FRIENDS
When you’re getting through a drab Iowa winter you’re entitled to a little fancy frivolous fun by February and that’s just what the Friends of the Center Point Library is planning. Friends meets Thursday night, Feb. 3, at 6:30 in the Library basement and top of the agenda will be putting the last fancy touches on plans for a Fancy Nancy tea party Saturday, Feb.
Band Booster Soup Supper tonight before VS girls game
The annual Vinton-Shellsburg Band Boosters soup supper takes place tonight in the high school cafeteria from 5-7 p.m The cost is $6 but kids 5 and under eat free.
The supper will feature Chili, Chicken Noodle Soup, Assorted Pies, Milk or Coffee.
All funds raised from the soup supper will go to support the VSHS and VSMS Band Programs.
